Tour the Labs of the Medical Center of Americas’ Cardwell Collaborative
Take a tour of the region’s first biomedical incubator, the Cardwell Collaborative. See these 60,000 square feet LEED Silver building with BSL-2 wet-laboratories, dry-laboratories, a computing room, collaboration spaces, meeting and conference rooms. In June 2016, the MCA opened the doors to the region’s first biomedical incubator, the Cardwell Collaborative (“CC”) to leverage the recent investments made in the region’s medical education and research community in order to launch a biomedical industry.
The Medical Center of the Americas Foundation (“MCA” or “MCA Foundation”) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that was formed in El Paso, Texas in 2006. The mission of the MCA is to develop and catalyze the life sciences eco-system in the Paso del Norte (“PDN”) region – the area of El Paso, Texas; northern Chihuahua, Mexico; and Southern New Mexico. The MCA, through its various entities, works to advance the development of the MCA campus and advance the Paso del Norte region’s biomedical innovation pipeline, from basic research to translational research to clinical trials to commercialization to manufacturing and distribution. The MCA is the keeper of the vision to position the Paso del Norte region as the global leader of health delivery, education and research concentrating on issues unique to the Hispanic, border and military populations.
