CelebrateSTEAM at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso
Middle and high school students, their parents and other interested adults are invited to learn what makes TTUHSC El Paso unique at the CelebrateSTEAM event on Saturday, April 21. CelebrateSTEAM is a new community initiative promoting interest in science, technology, engineering, art and math (STEAM).
As the only academic health sciences center on the U.S.-Mexico border, TTUHSC El Paso is at the forefront of researching emergent border health issues. Our medical, nursing and research students have the rare opportunity to learn from faculty in hands-on, interdisciplinary settings — a learning experience that can only be offered at a health sciences center.
During CelebrateSTEAM, participants will hear from TTUHSC El Paso President Richard Lange, M.D., M.B.A., and have a chance to tour the Regional Simulation and Training Center at the Gayle Greve Hunt School of Nursing. The center is set up like a hospital and uses high-fidelity manikins to simulate real-life situations students might encounter after graduation.
Please note space is limited to 40 people.
